Here’s an “interesting” fact (depending on how much of a local history geek you are): when a road was cut through Lloyds Bank in 1929, to provide access to the town centre, some columns from the ground floor level were removed. Somehow the bases and tops of the columns ended up in a garden at the side of Christchurch Mansion.

The Bone Detectives is a Channel 4 programme in which Tori Herridge and a team of scientists piece together life stories behind unearthed bones.
